Van Gogh’s Irises sold at Sotheby’s in New York in 1987 for $53.9 million! Below is our hand painted fine art copy of it.

It shows the view from the east-facing window of Van Gogh’s asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, with the addition of an idealized village. The Starry Night features short, painterly brushstrokes, which is very evident when looking at sky, which is painted with a thickly applied collection of blue and gold tones. Van Gogh’s Vase with Red Poppies and Daisies sold for £38.7 Million at Sotheby’s and was created at the French home of his doctor just months before his death in 1890 and was one of the few works he sold during his lifetime. Van Gogh’s Sunflowers is another very popular painting that we are asked to paint. This is one of four paintings of sunflowers dating from August and September 1888. Van Gogh, also ‘produced a replica of this painting in January 1889, and perhaps another one later in the year. The various versions and replicas remain much debated among Van Gogh scholars’ (source National Gallery London). As you can see this is pretty much a repetition of the original National Gallery London version. The work was painted while Van Gogh was living in Arles, just a month after he cut off his ear. This is a very interesting question actually. As I’ve said above,Van Gogh painted a series of 12 Sunflowers (Tournesols) on canvas. The most commonly referred to Sunslower paintings are the seven he painted while in Arles in 1888 – 1889. There are actually two series of Sunflowers though. The first series depict sunflowers lying on the ground. This was executed in 1887 in Paris. Please look at the Sunflowers painting above.
