Vincent Van Gogh’s beautiful painting entitled: Still Life, Vase with Daisies and Poppies is going to go under the hammer at Sotheby’s New York on November 4th and is estimated to fetch anywhere between $30 – $50 Million dollars. Painted at the house of his friend Dr. Gachet not long before he killed himself, its thought to be “the most important still life by Van Gogh to appear at auction in more than two decades.” (Sotheby’s)
If the name Dr Gachet sounds familiar that’s probably because Van Gogh’s Portrait of Dr Gachet still holds the record for the most expensive Van Gogh painting to be sold at auction. It was bought for $82.5 Million at Christie’s New York in 1990.
